These shadows that follow me
Ever closer taking me deeper
Till infinity the darkness swallows
Tighter as the wounds become
As the last leaves a reminder
Echos fall into it's last decent
There to run amidst obscurity
Away from this onto unknown
For this shadow now i become

I can see how darkness can swallow the shadows, it can be all consuming, but interestingly I saw light. The other way for a shadow to disappear is to surround what is casting it with light. It almost feels like a desire to step out of obscurity and be seen. Not as the shadow but as the one who creates it. The last line in particular “For this shadow I now become” in order to have a shadow there must be some illumination.
